2022 County Captain – Rhian Walters
The first County match was held at Tenby Golf Club v Monmouthshire on May 16th.
Team members were Wendy Edwards, Nicola Ward, Sophie Anderson, Olwen Davies and getting their first caps, youngsters Marni Copeland & Dwynwen Holgate.
Despite our best efforts, particularly in the afternoon singles with many matches going to the wire, we went down 7/2 to a strong opposition.
Particular mention to Dwynwen (County Champion 2022) who played against Monmouthshire County Champion Lauren Hillier (former professional player) in the afternoon singles. This match was all square after 18 holes, unfortunately on the 1st extra playoff Lauren managed to squeeze the win. An amazing performance!!
Thanks to our team who are a credit to the county, committee, supporters and most of all Tenby Golf club for looking after us very well.
We look forward to our next match at Radyr Golf Club Thursday 23rd June v Glamorganshire.
